If you’ve been following along with our journey over the past while, you’ll know this has been a long time coming. What started as homebrewing experiments, late nights researching, and plenty of trial and error is now very close to becoming a fully operational brewery. And honestly, it still feels a bit surreal saying that.

We’re delighted to share that Bréifne Gael Brewing Company is now in the final stretch, with plans to open our doors and start producing beer within the next month or so.

Over the past few months, the brewery has really started to take shape. Equipment has been installed, the brewhouse is up and running, and the space is finally starting to feel like a proper working brewery rather than a building site. There’s still plenty of work going on behind the scenes — final fittings, testing systems, paperwork, and of course brewing beer — but we’re nearly there.

For anyone new to Bréifne Gael Brewing Company, we’re a small independent brewery based in Cavan with a big focus on brewing quality, flavourful beers with a strong sense of place and identity. The goal has always been simple: brew beer we’re proud to serve, that people genuinely enjoy drinking, whether you’re a craft beer fan or just someone who enjoys a good pint.

We’ve been blown away by the support so far from local pubs, off-licences, friends, family, and the wider community. The encouragement, messages, and interest have honestly helped keep the momentum going through the busy (and sometimes stressful) build phase.

Over the next few weeks, we’ll be sharing plenty of updates, photos, and behind-the-scenes looks as we get everything ready for launch. We’re also looking forward to getting beer out into the wild and hearing what people think.

The first releases will include some beers that are very close to our hearts, including Or Dubh Irish Stout, which recently picked up a gold medal at the Irish National Homebrew Championship, along with a few other styles that we can’t wait to share.

We’re incredibly excited to finally reach this stage and we genuinely can’t wait to get our beer into your hands.
